Banking Research Institutes
Research institutes are organisations/establishments endowed for doing basic research or applied research. In banking and finance, research institutes play a significant role in financial decision making and the creation of new strategies and development programs for the banking and financial services industry. Generally, banking and finance research institutes conduct studies with regard to consumer market, government regulations, market trends, and other economic indicators. These studies are usually funded by corporations and government through a competitive process. But unlike the government-funded research, which most studies are not meant to provide marketable results, studies funded by corporations, especially banks are undertaken for future commercial use as many companies recognise the value of research and development as a key element in a competitive strategy.
