Economics expands to a lot of fields to benefit the financial situation of the nation as a whole. In its original sense, the field that is agricultural economics applies the principles of economics to the production of crops and livestock. It is also termed as agronomics, a branch of economics that deals with land utilization. It focuses on maximising the yield of crops while maintaining a good soil ecosystem. Throughout the 20th century, the discipline expanded. The current scope of the discipline is much broader. Agricultural economics today includes a variety of applied areas, having considerable overlap with conventional economics.
